Want to look 5 or even 10 years younger without surgery?
Dermal Fillers may be the answer for you.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers are used to:
The most common fillers used are made of hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance that is found in the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers include brands such as Juvederm and Restylane.
Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
Dermal Fillers should be injected by a qualified doctor.
As with all treatments there is always a chance of side effects that should be explained to you prior to your treatment. Although side effects are uncommon, some of the more common side effects include redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site. These side effects are usually temporary.
Permanent side effects from hyaluronic acid fillers (such as Juvederm and Restylane) are rare. This risk can be minimized by ensuring your treatment is performed by a qualified physician, using an FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler. In addition, following your physician’s recommended post treatment advice can help to reduce the risk of side effects.
How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?
Most fillers will last anywhere from 6 months to two years depending on type of filler used, area treated and how quickly your body breaks down the filler.
In our experience, we find that dermal fillers last longer with repeat treatment. For example, many of our patients note that their first treatment of filler lasted up to one year, but when that same area is retreated within one year, it can last much longer.
We believe this is because the initial injection of filler creates a foundation for the next treatment to provide even more support to the tissues and prevention of sagging and drooping.
How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost? How Much Does Juvederm Cost?
A dermal filler treatment may cost anywhere from about $500 to a few thousand dollars depending on how many areas on the face are being treated, the amount of volume loss and depth of wrinkles. It is important to have a consultation with the injecting doctor prior to the treatment to determine desired results, amount of filler needed to achieve those results and cost of treatment.
Juvederm treatments (one of the most popular hyaluronic acid fillers available) may cost $550 and up. Once again, the amount depends on how many syringes your treatment requires. Your physician can determine the approximate number of syringes required for treatment when they assess your skin, facial structure, volume loss and desired result during your consultation.
